2019 Golf R USA
2019 Golf R USA welcome to vwsuvmodels.com now you can find expert reviews for the latest models Volkswagen SUVs from U.S. in our site.On Friday, at the board meeting, Volkswagen talked about the next generation of Hatchback golfers. Golf of the eighth generation, i.e. MK8, is currently in the second phase of development and will start production in mid-2019.
VW’s top executives met at the “Golf 8 Supplier Summit” with 180 managers from 120 of the company’s suppliers to discuss the Gulf’s production plans. “With the I.D. family, the launch of the new generation of golf will be the most strategic launch for the brand,” said Ralf Brandstätter, procurement manager at Volkswagen.
The MK8 is being built in the newly designed Wolfsburg production facility, and VW has invested approximately $2.2 billion in the plant in anticipation of the new golf family. Wolfsburg already produces more than 2,000 golfs a day, so this car is in good hands. Volkswagen says that the first new Mk8 will roll in 75 weeks from the assembly line so that we have to wait until summer to get excited.
Karlheinz Hell supervises the development and establishes the philosophy of the new Gulf on connectivity and autonomous driving. “The next golf will take Volkswagen into the era of fully-networked vehicles with extended autonomous driving capabilities,” said Hell. He indicated that the MK8 would always be connected via Wi-Fi and could possibly come as standard with the digital cockpit of the new golf R.
In the 2018 model year, golf may have a mid-range air freshener, but Volkswagen promises that the eighth generation will be even more loaded with technology and performance. There is still no word on the sportier GTI variant, but we imagine that Volkswagen will not abandon it with the next iteration of the world’s most popular hot hatch.
We also expect that all standard features of the GTI will remain unchanged for 2019. If this is the case, then look for 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, heated mirrors, rain sensor windshield wiper, Cloth upholstery, heated front seats, ambient lighting and much more. We also expect the under-hood bits to remain the same in the 2019 Golf GTI. If this is the case, then it has a 2.0-liter turbo-charged four-cylinder engine with 220 horsepower and 258 pound of torque. Buyers currently have the option of having a normal six-speed manual transmission or an available six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Regardless of the setup, the GTI comes exclusively with front wheel drive.
We also expect all safety ratings to be on the GTI in 2019, so it’s still not a IIHS top Safety pick due to its “acceptable” passenger-side small-overlap results and its “basic ” front-collision-mitigation rating.

We assume that the production of the 2019 Golf GTI will begin in early September of this year. Without any changes on the horizon, we expect the prices of the 2019 Golf GTI to remain similar to the current model, which ranges from $28,365 to $37,020 (target fees included).
